Wednesday, March 4, 2015

  • Warm morning, high clouds, calm, temp: 71, high: 87.
  • And by the time you read this Jim, Randy, Denise, & Candy will be well on their way to Port Madison for some deep sea fishing in the ocean (gulf).
  • Think you read that last paragraph some where before. Well, you did - in yesterday's blog. Yes, they're going out again today to catch some of those deep sea lunkers.
  • Mid morning I helped set up chairs for the after jam and evening entertainment.
  • For lunch Diane, Dan, Nolan & I went to Peter Piper pizza, just up the road. Had good pizza & Nolan got to play a variety of arcade games.
  • After lunch it was very warm and the wind had subsided a bit, so I biked 5 1/2 miles through the park and through The Plantation
  • Afterward I was pooped, but very warm. So, what else, I went swimming. Suffice it to say that by the end of the day I was very tired.
  • Solved part of the tiredness by taking an afternoon nap for an hour or so.
  • Then Diane, Nolan & I had supper at Taco Fiesta. Shortly upon our return the fishermen returned - about 7:30.
  • The good is that most everyone caught fish. The bad is that they all got seasick.
  • In the evening, Dave & Hannah called and told me of their family news. Thanks Dave & Hannah for the phone call.
  • This evening's regular Wednesday entertainer is Leslie Blasing, a female country music singer. But because of the late arrival of the fishermen, we did not attend.
  • A couple of interesting pix today.
Nolan playing great uncle Roger at Air Hockey. Nolan won. Thanks, Diane, for the picture.
The "snow storm" that occurred in Plymouth (Minneapolis) yesterday. Thanks, Kath, for the video.

  • Cooler morning, light breeze, clear (see picture),  temp: 57, high: 72.
  • I drove Jim to PT while Diane fed our guests: Mavis, Tim, Amy, Brad, & Beth.
  • Today was the last day that Jim needs to be driven to PT. His doctor says he needs another month of PT, but beginning Monday, he can drive. I'll bet he's saying, "Yippee!"
  • While Jim was having his 90 minute therapy, I drove to a nearby Starbucks for coffee.
  • As soon as Jim and I returned, everybody was ready to head for Mexico. So with 8 people, we drove 2 cars over to Progresso Nuevo in Mexico. We walked about 5 blocks South into the city. Along the way, all the women purchased a variety of Mexican items.
  • And of course, while we were in Mexico, we had to have lunch at Arturo's
  • When I got home I realized that I was missing my credit card. I knew it had to be at either Starbucks or Arturo's. A phone call to Starbucks said they had my card.
  • So after we got home, Brad, Tim & I drove back up to Starbucks and picked up my credit card.
  • Finally got home just before 7 PM which was too dark to ride my bike. So I missed that again. Ugh.
  • Upon return to the park, everyone was ready to go swimming. We don't do that too much in February, so it is indeed a treat.
  • I didn't get any pictures today. But I promise I'll take some tomorrow.
  • Oh, I almost forgot, the sunrise was so beautiful this morning that I took a picture of it. (Ignore the previous paragraph.) A cold front was moving South. Hence the sky-blue-pink bordered by a huge cloud in the North.

  • Dan & Dawn arrived at about 9:15 PM last evening & were setup by 10.
  • Very cool, clear, & windy today, temp: 49, high: 63. No swimming today for Dan & Dawn.
  • Had a What-A-Burger for lunch.
  • Then went to H-E-B for a day & a half of groceries.
  • Napped.
  • Day stayed sunny, hot, & windy all day.
  • Fixed bacon & cheese on toast for supper. Mmm . . . good.
  • Finally to prove that Dan & Dawn are here, here's the GMC & Scamp parked in slot 28 at Paradise Park.

  • In the evening we drove to downtown Pharr and Dawn took lots of pictures of the beautiful Christmas lights. I'll give you some sample tomorrow night.
  • Kathy called wishing us all Merry Christmas. Thanks, Kath, for the call. And Merry Christmas to you & your family.
  • Finally, what a wonderful way to celebrate Christmas with Dan & Dawn here with me. Perhaps Kath & Dave & their families can make it in later years.
